At present, we are waiting to board the Thai Air flight to Bangkok at LAX. It has been such a long day, but we've caught our second wind. It took all of 15 seconds for us to find the free alcohol in the Thai Air business class lounge. Check.
On our 10 hours layover in LA we toured Manhatten beach and did some shopping. The shopping was for my benefit of hearing Dave say..." do you know how much this will cost in Chiang Mai?" Needless to say, nothing was purchased. The Manhatten beach neighbourhood is very pretty, where laneways sepearate uniquely designed homes with well manicured, postage stamp sized gardens.

Hi Jen and Dave,
Glad to see you were able to escape LAX for a few hours to catch some rays. You already look relaxed. Have a safe journey to Thailand.
Love you
Mom and Rob
I'm glad to see you started a blog! I'm looking forward to follow your adventures.
Have a great time! The snow and cold has arrived in Sudbury by the way... you escaped right in time!

Blogging geeks now huh? Atta boy! Have fun and keep in touch. And remember when you're in Thailand, cargo vans with blacked out windows aren't the best place to buy candy!
I almost forgot...you're probably going to want to get yourselves a couple of fanny packs. I hear they are great for keeping your personal things in and also deter wouldby pickpocketers because of the handy zipper enclosure.
